It took me a while, but I finally figured it out. My roomate's been asking me if I could make the website on one page and have the tabs display different parts, and me being new to Drupal templates not knowing how to use them nor wanting to learn it at this point, spent most of the day hacking around to see what I can get out of it.
I ended up putting the menus in there manually and with a little help from jQuery was able to fancy up the website :)
